LTN Photo Scavenger Hunt

What is a Photo Scavenger Hunt?
/ˈskavənjər hənt/ noun
  1. a game, typically played in an extensive outdoor area, in which participants have to collect a number of miscellaneous photographs.

It's like a scavenger hunt. But, instead of finding and collecting unusual items, you are to find and photograph your team at unique locations and or performing unusual activities.

Date - Location - Schedule

When: (TBD), 10:30 AM & 6:00 PM
Where: Lakewood YMCA Community Rm.
...and all over and around Lakewood

10:30 AM - Start at the Y's Community Room. Receive a copy of the hunt items, rules, and Q&A. Pick your team.
11:00 AM - Depart and begin you hunt.
4:00 PM-Deadline to submit photos (digitally)
6:00 PM - Return to the Y, have something to eat and share your stories from the day.
Map: Scavenger Hunt Boundary
Your team is not restricted to this boundary. However, everything in the hunt should technically be achievable within this area.

What you need:

  • CAMERA - it can be a dedicated camera, cell phone, or other device. But, we need to be able to retrieve the images from the device in a standard image format. If you don't have one, several are available to borrow
  • TEAM - choose your own team. Your team can be your Circle, your family, or someone else's family. So, long as their LTN members, it's up to you. A smaller team is more manageable. A bigger team is more fun and more likely to achieve points.
  • TIME & CREATIVITY

Rules:

  • The list of hunt items will be provided on the morning of the event at a kick-off meeting. You will have from then until 6pm to collect your photos and return to the Y where you will submit them to the judges.
  • Find landmarks. Perform silly activities. Find locations in or near Lakewood (or anywhere, really) to photograph items on the hunt.
  • Everything on the hunt can technically be found or performed. However, no arrangements or guarantees have been made for you. It's up to you and your team to make it happen.
  • Team size should be around 4 min. to 10 max. Some flexibility is allowed to accommodate for circumstances.
  • At least one team member should be in each photograph. For whole-team shots, one member may be absent so that they can take the picture.
  • 10 photos maximum. Take as many photos as you like but you can only submit 10.
  • You may combine any hunt items.
  • All images must be created on the event date.
  • No photo editing. No app filters or overlays. Image adjustments are ok.
  • No sabotaging other teams
  • The judges' determinations are final.
  • Judges are recused from the competition.
  • The event occurs rain or shine.
  • These rules are a work in progress and are subject to change.
